I am originally from Ohio and consider myself a proud Buckeye! I have lived in Florida since 2010, and I have a four year old son. I enjoy crafting, cooking, singing, the beach, working in my yard, traveling, and spending time with friends playing board games. I also teach a group fitness class for fun. I graduated with my Master of Science degree in Counseling and Educational Development with a focus in Community Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2009. I completed my post-graduate internship experience working with children at a local agency here in Florida. I'm excited about my work in this setting, and I look forward to meeting you!
I tend to work from Solution-Focused and Cognitive-Behavioral based frameworks. This means that while I will need to ask you questions about your background and the history of your problems or concerns, we are not going to dwell on them. We will concentrate on making positive changes in your current behavior and thought processes in order to improve your level of functioning and happiness in life while reducing negative symptoms you may be experiencing. This will lead to a more positive future!
